Eventually…

Alison, I agree, Lisa McMann’s style is very polarizing. I wish I were on the side that loved it.

Nina, That does seem to be the case with Lisa McMann. Plain Kate flew by for me, and usually I’m a big scaredy cat when it comes to long books.

Casey, Me too :( I hope you like The Unwanteds more than I did.

Nic, I can see why you wouldn’t like The Unwanteds, it’s very fantasy. Hope you had a great weekend too :)

Laine, Thank you for following! I was kinda meh about the Wake series, but I did enjoy Cryer's Cross. I'll be interested to see if I have the same issues with The Unwanteds as you did.Casey (The Bookish Type)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17124722748517656056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8955420282479112508.post-34852212308408876462011-07-23T12:22:08.523-04:002011-07-23T12:22:08.523-04:00Sorry you didn't like The Unwanteds by Lisa Mc...Sorry you didn't like The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann. I have not read any books written by her, but I quess it's what Alison says, you either love or hate them. ;)

I heard great things about Plain Kate, but it has got so many pages I was like 'no way, too many for my taste'. ;) Going to check your review out. ;)Ninahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11698452908549878264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8955420282479112508.post-38669391508325434622011-07-23T01:18:48.181-04:002011-07-23T01:18:48.181-04:00Too bad about Lisa's book. I didn't like Fade as much but I loved the internal character drama of Gone (whereas many people hated it for the lack of action). I haven't gotten to Cryer's Cross yet.Alison Can Readhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17908868606441539344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8955420282479112508.post-63647422354690321592011-07-22T23:36:52.783-04:002011-07-22T23:36:52.783-04:00You're so productive. But, I also didn't like the characters or the writing. I'm just hopeless when it comes to her books :(

Aylee, Gina from My Precious said The Unwanteds reminded her of Harry Potter and she loved it, so you should definitely give it a shot! I hope you like Catspaw if you read it. It sometimes veers off into cyberpunk stuff that I still don't fully understand, but I love Cat :)

Logan, Whew, between you and Aylee I feel much better now :) Yup, 20 and a half, technically. He died in the middle of writing the 21st book and they published it unfinished. Apparently it's very sad to read. At least after this second book they get significantly shorter, though I am enjoying it a lot.Small Reviewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16072352095510905410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8955420282479112508.post-9884205783728695782011-07-22T13:33:19.267-04:002011-07-22T13:33:19.267-04:00When you're overwhelmed, it's perfectly ac...When you're overwhelmed, it's perfectly acceptable to re-read a good one. Now that you have my say-so, you should feel better about it. :P

20 books!?! When I realized that Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters series had that many books I gulped really loudly. I've never read anything by Lisa McMann to say for sure whether I'll like her writing style though.

I don't think you should feel at all bad for reading a favourite book in the time of stress. I do it too. And now hearing that you've read Catspaw 15 times means of course that I need to add it to my lengthy TBR!Ayleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07639250102446794830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8955420282479112508.post-24662615561391591032011-07-22T00:39:34.440-04:002011-07-22T00:39:34.440-04:00I wanted to like Cryer's Cross so much because...I wanted to like Cryer's Cross so much because the main character was so interesting. At least the whole OCD thing intrigued me, and I thought it was written very well. Sadly, I didn't end up enjoying the story part of it :( I'm going to try Unwanted at some point so we'll see how that goes~~Sniffly Kittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16625818304443563472noreply@blogger.com
