I wrote a whole bunch in advance because I knew I'd be busy now with the new job/move. Now I've actually been reading a lot of fantasy and rereads, probably because they're a lot more escapist and starting a new job while reading about plague, arranged marriages, and death in childbirth isn't nearly as much fun as reading about magic. I love your description of the skinny armor and the fat suit!

Yeah, the book definitely did focus on his interest in that in the sense that it repeated his activities a lot, but it didn't really go beyond the surface. So, yeah he talked a lot about engaging in sword fighting and jousting but there weren't any details beyond that level. That made it more repetitive and dull when it could have been fascinating if there was more depth. I've noticed you're kind of on a historical fiction roll right now :)A Canadian Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07127164685941412250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8955420282479112508.post-61436147113229029712015-05-20T08:59:22.363-04:002015-05-20T08:59:22.363-04:00It's true, I've never before come across a...It's true, I've never before come across a book that tells the point of view from Henry VIII. I guess because it's hard to make him sympathetic. I can see how this telling isn't as good as it could have been, without any character developing moments. After my time at the Tower of London, it makes me wonder whether this book portrays how weapons/armour/battle obsessed he was because that's definitely the impression I got after looking at his personal collection! I got to see his skinny suit of armour as well as his fat-suit of armour after he gained all his weight, heeheeAyleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07639250102446794830noreply@blogger.com
