What's Your Status?
A meme created by Zakiya from Butterfly Feet Walking on Life where we recap our reading week. Feel free to visit her site and link up your own What's Your Status Posts. Here's how my week went:
Finished
I was majorly disappointed.
Surprisingly fun! Give it a try if you're a fan of Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins.
Dawn of the Dreadfuls by Steve Hockensmith
This was fun. Some laugh out loud moments and keeps pretty well in character. I even liked Kitty and Lydia.

Yes, you read that right. In last week's recap I had written a DNF review of Legacy, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. I picked it up again and read through to the end. I'm...still on the fence.

YAY for reading Die For Me. I hope you enjoy it. I also have just requested Ward Against Death. I hope I get approved :)
ReplyDeleteOh shoot, I had such high hopes for Love Story! So glad you enjoyed Touch of Frost though, I really liked that one too. I love pretty much anything she writes:)
ReplyDeleteThe Cover for Dawn of the Dreadfuls just give me the creeps!
ReplyDeleteAnd, sounds like Legacry is a tough one... :P
I might just check out Touch of Frost. I love the Hex Hall series. So fun!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you didn't give up on Die for Me . It will be exciting to read the review comparision you put together, if you decide too.
ReplyDeleteNic, Eehh, I’m not really enjoying Die For Me yet, but the jury is still out. I am liking Ward Against Death though! I hope you get approved for it. :)
ReplyDeleteJenny, I had high hopes for Love Story, too :( I just didn’t like either of the main characters. Touch of Frost was my first book by her. I really like how things are setting up for the next book. That sword is great :P
Alex, It is such a creepy cover! I almost don't want to post the bigger version with my review :P Legacy is...it has great potential to be an awesome book, but it needs more work.
Leanna, I hope you like Touch of Frost. They're definitely different, but it did have a similar vibe to Hex Hall, I thought. :)
Gina, well...I'm still considering a DNF. I'm a little more than 100 pages in and I'm still not feeling it. I'll do a review comparison on it even if I don't finish it.
Oh, Touch of Frost sounds interesting. I've never heard of it before, though I've read one of Jennifer Estep's adult books before. I'm intrigued that you compared it to Hex Hall, since I've heard good things about that book!
ReplyDeleteOh you're so lucky to be reading Ward Against Death. I really wanted to read that one but my request got rejected because too many people requested it or something. I look forward to your review of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your review of Dawn of the Dreadfuls. That book cover totally freaks me out, but I want to read your opinion.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I really loved Legacy, but that's the beauty of book blogging - we all have our own opinions, and it's great to see what others think. Love your informative posts, btw...the sidebar header one was great! :)
ReplyDeleteNatalie, Oh you should read Hex Hall then too! They both have funny, approachable main characters and are set in paranormal boarding schools.
ReplyDeleteRebecca, I just saw that criteria they have about rejecting review requests after 100 people. I think I was one of the first requests. I refreshed the page, saw it pop up, and then requested it asap. It’s good so far! At least it will be published soon so you don’t have long to wait.
The Slowest Bookworm, The cover is so gross. :P I’ll have the review up probably in August. I liked it!
Melissa, I love seeing our different opinions too. It was actually your review that got me to read Legacy. Even though I didn’t love it, I’m really glad I read it and I’m impatiently awaiting the sequel. So thank you! Glad you liked the sidebar header post!
