If Blogger were this cute, I'd be significantly less annoyed... |
Please excuse the mess...
Is anyone else pulling their hair out over Blogger's little snafu? I lost the Spotlight List post about Adele Griffin's books. That post also had the information about the giveaways. I will try to get both posts back up ASAP, but since I (of course!) didn't have a backup for that post, I'll have to re-write them.
I also couldn't edit my temporarily scheduled Recap post, so it was posted all messed up and half finished. That's been fixed and this post now has all the important updates and info that was originally in the Recap.
Argh, this whole thing is totally messing with my organization! *stomp foot* I'm so sorry about the mess here!
Survey!
In my About section you can see that my goal when starting this blog was to create a friendly environment where YA book lovers can meet, swap book suggestions, and talk books. I hope I'm accomplishing that, but I know it's always possible to improve. So I turn to you. Every comment you've made, every question you've posed have all helped make this blog a better place.
A few examples of features here that your comments have inspired:
DNF reviews
The Review Comparison feature
Blogging Tips and Tricks
Email notification for when I reply to your comments
To help make things even better, I'm asking for you to fill out a quick survey to give me some feedback. The survey looks long, but it should only take a few minutes to complete. Most of it is multiple choice, but I'm the kind of person who always has trouble with multiple choice because I always want to add a "but...." or some sort of explanation. So I've included the option for you to make comments with the multiple choice responses (you can skip those and just answer the multiple choice parts).
None of the questions are required, so feel free to skip as many as you want. The form is anonymous, so please feel free to speak your mind. I'll leave the survey up until June 1st to give you time to fill it out at your convenience. Thank you so much and I hope I can use your responses to help make Small Review even better!

Review Comparison Feature
You all rock so much! I opened up the last Review Comparison Submissions for you to choose the next book and you delivered! The response has been amazing and, honestly, I'm having trouble choosing just one book. So I've decided to keep the submissions open indefinitely and I'll simply pick all future books to be featured as a Review Comparison from your suggestions.
I will include a link to the submission form on:
and at the end of every Review Comparison post
I'm going to try to feature every book suggested, but because there are so many, please be patient and don't feel ignored if your suggestion doesn't appear in a Review Comparison for a little while. They're fairly time-consuming posts to put together, but I do try to average at least one per month.
Please do continue to make suggestions!

Blogspot wouldn't even let me login for two days! And then it deleted some random things from my blog. What was up with that?
ReplyDeleteLet's just hope that it doesn't happen again any time soon.
I lost a post, but it's saved in drafts. I'm not sure if I should repost or if blogger will restore old posts?! It's annoying!
ReplyDeleteA good way to ensure blogger back up is to subscribe to your own e-mail subscription service. That way you get emailed all your blog posts as back up. :)
Blogger screwed us all!
ReplyDeleteI also lost some posts, but they were still on the Manage My Posts list so I just re-posted them. Don't you have that on your Dashboard?
And I agree, you have some pretty exciting stuff and it's such a bummer that they all got lost, just like that. But anyway, at least you were able to write them all again. Blogger should give us free hand massages for messing with our posts.
Anyway, I hope everything's good now, have a great weekend!
Brush Up On Your Reading
I had to copy my lost post from Google Reader. I kept thinking I'd wait until Blogger restored the post but it doesn't look like that's happening. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteMust Love Books, Me too! I guess they were doing maintenance or fixing something. I hope it doesn’t happen again! I lost some comments, too.
ReplyDeleteLeanna, YOU ARE A GENIUS!!!!!!! I’m subscribed to my blog through Google Reader so I was able to copy it from there! Yay! Thank you!
Nina, Haha yes, yes they did! :P I checked my dashboard, but no luck. Then today I checked and they were in the scheduled posts section (though they’re not scheduled for anything). Weird. I’m totally in support of your free hand massage idea!
Logan, I ended up copying mine from GR too after Leanna’s awesome comment. Then I found those posts in my scheduled posts folder, but, whatever, I ended up cleaning up the code a little more anyway by redoing it. Will I learn my lesson on making more backups? Eh, maybe….
Aaah yes, the blogger issue was very frustrating! I'm glad its sorted now although the lost posts are annoying. I'm hoping that little hint about something special is what I think it's about ;)If it is then I'm super excited....
ReplyDeleteStephanie, The lost posts are annoying, but they’re all back here now. I’m subscribed through GR to your blog, so if you’re missing anything I can probably get at least the text for you if you need it :) I think you’re probably thinking of the right thing for the hint. I know you’ll like it :)
