In My Mailbox (5)

In My Mailbox is a meme started by Kristi at The Story Siren with some inspiration from Alea of Pop Culture Junkie where we get to post about the books we receive each week through publishers/authors, our own purchases, contests won, and libraries.

The cute IMM button comes from Bewitched Bookworms.

I've been trying to practice some restraint by not ordering a whole bunch of books (especially considering I still have books not only from last week, but from the week before that....and the week before that!) Some restraint does not equal complete restraint (come on, me? Restraint? Ha!), so here are the books I got this week:

From the library:

For Review (from the lovely author):

Anyone read any of these books? What were your thoughts?

What did you get in your mailbox (or on your library card or credit card)? Feel free to add your IMM links in your comments.

And don't forget to join in on my event, Busting the Newbie Blues! We're having a ton of fun!

  1. I totally know what you mean. I'm on a book buying ban right now until I actually get some reading done.!! The Healer's Apprentice has a gorgeous cover, unfortunately for me the second book's cover tells me to "run away"...

  2. I try to have restraint to but it never seems to happen. *sadly* Interesting looking books though!

  5. Gina, Isn't it a huge contrast in covers? The first one is so pretty, but the second one does turn me off. I read the first page or so of the second book though, and I do like the writing.

Angelic Nytmare, yeah, me and restraint aren't compatible concepts!

Yiota, Yay! I'm looking forward to reading your responses.

Alice, I think so too. I'm curious as to how it relates to a Sleeping Beauty retelling.

  7. I've been trying to limit what I get from the library and bookstore as well. I have a pile of books waiting to be read in the next few weeks and I need to be good and not add too many new ones to the pile! The Healer's Apprentice is on my TBR list. I can't wait to hear what you think of it! Enjoy!

  8. The Healer's Apprentice does look good. I know what you mean about having unread books at the end of each week. I have over 900 on my TBR stack right now. Happy reading and thanks for visiting my blog!

  18. Small,

    I'm loving the cover for
The Healer's Apprentice. So much so that I had to look up what the book was about. Wow! Sounds really good.

And hmmm... what does this word "restraint" mean, and do I even want to know? :p

  19. Isn't it gorgeous? The cover is what first drew me in.

Haha, I don't think I could help you with the definition :)

Because I am absolutely terrible about following through with blog awards, I can't in good conscience accept any more. Thank you very much for thinking of me though!
