In My Mailbox (7)

In My Mailbox is a meme started by Kristi at The Story Siren with some inspiration from Alea of Pop Culture Junkie where we get to post about the books we receive each week through publishers/authors, our own purchases, contests won, and libraries.

The cute IMM button comes from Bewitched Bookworms.

I'm still trying to keep my book ordering to a minimum, so this week I only got one book from the library:

But, that isn't to say I didn't get any other books! My wonderful fiance bought me these three for my birthday and for Christmas:

I've read both Brightly Woven and The Adoration of Jenna Fox (my review) and I loved them. Both went straight onto my Special Shelf of books I treasure forever. Vivian Vande Velde is one of my favorite authors, but I haven't read this book yet. I'm really looking forward to it!

What did you get in your mailbox (or on your library card or credit card)? Feel free to add your IMM links in your comments.

  14. Hope you had a great birthday. I'm hoping to get around to reading Brightly Woven this year but The Adoration of Jenna Fox definitely belongs on that Special Shelf. I don't think I've read any of Velde's books so I'll have to check them out when I get the time.

  15. Great books! I still need to read Brightly Woven! It always sounded so good, just never got the chance to pick it up. Jenna Fox was really good, a really interesting concept. I've heard mixed things about Rosebush, so I'll be looking forward to seeing what you think!

  18. LOL, I was supposed to read Rosebush for bookclub but it didn't seem like my kind of book, so I can't wait to hear what you think of it.

I have read the Adoration of Jenna Fox and it was very good, I liked it tons though it could be slowish at times.

Hope you enjoy them all! Happy reading

  19. Nina, Thank you!

Erica, Big yays for Brightly Woven! Definitely do check out Magic Can Be Murder. Especially since you like Brightly Woven.

A Canadian Girl, I did! Thank you. Vivian Vande Velde’s books are usually pretty short, but they’re great. I hope you enjoy them and Brightly Woven. Yay for Jenna Fox!

Little Miss Becky, I agree, Jenna Fox was a very interesting concept. It brought up so many questions. I hope you get to read Brightly Woven soon! I’ll let you know about Rosebush.

Reading Lassie, I only have even more positive things to say about Brightly Woven :) I’m looking forward to the other two.

JessiKKay, Thank you and you’re welcome!

AnimeGirl, I’ll let you know about Rosebush! I’ve heard other people say they found Jenna Fox slowish, but I didn’t. I flew through it (it was those short chapters too, I always read books with short chapters much quicker).

Because I am absolutely terrible about following through with blog awards, I can't in good conscience accept any more. Thank you very much for thinking of me though!
