Why I'm Interested:

I get a lot of e-books for review, but I don't have an e-reader so a lot of them expire before I can get to them. I'm hoping this challenge will help give me a little extra motivation to stare at my computer screen for hours and actually read the e-galleys I get.

Books Completed:

13. Scent of Magic by Maria V. Snyder
12. Player's Ruse by Hilari Bell
11. Princess of the Silver Woods by Jessica Day George
10. The Other Normals by Ned Vizaini
9. Defiance by C. J. Redwine
8. Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
7. Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne
6. The Wicked and the Just by J. Anderson Coats
5. The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda
4. Pilgrims Don't Wear Pink by Stephanie Kate Strohm
3. Ladies in Waiting by Laura L. Sullivan
2. Renegade Magic by Stephanie Burgis
1. Bourne by Lisa T. Bergren

Have you signed up for this challenge? What books are you planning on reading?

  1. You should totally invest in a Kindle or Nook. I started off reading from a computer screen but it doesn't feel as good as a Kindle. It would be the closest thing to an actual book, but you're still reading e-books!

  2. Oh, I do get tons of ebooks too!
:) and I like having the reader but you know? I still find myself reading on the compy a lot too. =)

anyway, best of luck with this.

  3. I go back and forth from my nook and my laptop. One thing I find is that when I have a backlog of reading to do, I tend to read my paper books first, because nothing beats the sense of accomplishment of getting them out of the way!

  4. Yes, of course I'll be signing up for this one. I read 90% of my books on my kindle. I did very well with this challenge last year. I'm looking forward to participating again. Last year you signed up for a lot if challenges. Will you be doing the same in 2012?

  5. Steph, I know, but I'm still an e-reader holdout :) None of them have everything I'm looking for yet. In time!

Alex, That's interesting! Why do you think that happens? I wonder if I would still read books on my computer if I had an e-reader. Hm, probably at least when I dry my hair (yes, I read while I blow dry my hair!). The computer screen is great for that!

Madigan, I always go for my paper books first. Especially when they're ARCs since I figure it probably cost more to produce them. It is a nice feeling to look at a physical stack of books and know I've read them all though!

Gina, Ha, yes, this challenge is perfect for you! I have signed up for even more challenges this year :P

  6. My first thought when I saw this post was, "Why is Small signing up for an ebook challenge?" I get your reasoning, though I can't agree with it. I HATE reading on the computer. I think I stare at one for enough hours of the day--I don't need to add to them.
I was a holdout for a long time until I bought my Kindle. I've never regretted it because the e-ink makes it easy to read. I still mostly prefer physical copies--but sometimes I want to read a trashy romance and I want to read it NOW. That's when my Kindle comes in handy. Also, for older books that are out of print.

All of which is of no relation to your challenge! Go Small! You can do it!

  7. More power to you, Small. I have issues with migraines so this will not be something I sign up for.

I signed up for the contemps challenge with Ashley at Books from Bleh to Basically Amazing. I have almost 50 contemps to read I might be signing up for the TBR challenge too since they can be simultaneous.
I just have to find the blog that's running that challenge.

  8. Ruby, hehe we are terrible hiatus-ers (um, yeah, that word kinda works). I wish Kindle's were more compatible with all publishers' review galleys and I wish they all had screen sizes like the iPad but cost more like the cheapest Kindle. So I'm still waiting :P My computer now has a really nice screen that doesn't really fatigue my eyes. My biggest annoyance with it is that I can't take it with me to work, which is where I do most of my reading lately.

Heather, Aw, I'm sorry about your migraines! Definitely not a good challenge for you then. I signed up for Ashley's challenge too! I don't have nearly as many contemps I want to read, but I'm trying to dip my toes in. I have a TBR challenge too.

It's all about friendly conversation here at Small Review :) I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Be sure to check back again because I do make every effort to reply to your comments here.

Because I am absolutely terrible about following through with blog awards, I can't in good conscience accept any more. Thank you very much for thinking of me though!
